Protestors interrupt National Homeland Security Conference - NYC

NEW YORK, NY – JULY 11, 2018: Demonstrators from the organization FIRE (Fight for Im/migrants and Refugees Everywhere) interrupt the at Manhattan’s Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. The event was held on The Rink At Rockefeller Center (Converts to a restaurant during the summer). The event was held for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and private security contractors who protestors hold responsible for the detention and deportation of millions of migrants. Among FIRES' demands are : DHS out of NYC; Abolish ICE and DHS and the Police; Asylum for Central American Refugees; Open the Borders; Close all Detention Centers & Prisons; Justice for everyone killed in detention; Justice for LGBTQ migrants; No Muslim Ban, No Wall, No Border; Reunite all families – including those separated from the mass incarceration of Black, Brown & poor people. #AbolishICE #FireiceNoBorders (Footage by Tomas Abad/Getty Images).
