Rebellious Soldiers Walking on Street Vehicles

(Original Caption) Soldiers of the "Liberation" forces of Colonel Carlos Castillo Armas are shown atop a regular Army tank captured in the fighting that broke out between them and the officer cadets of the Aurora Military Base in Guatemala City. The auto in foreground was machine gunned by the tank before its capture. Prestige of Colonel Castillo seemed to have been enhanced by the uprising and the efficient manner in which it was crushed. The three man ruling Junta headed by Castillo remained unchanged.
