CA: 1983 - "In the last fifteen to twenty years I emerged from being a closet cross dresser to being a leader in what I call the paraculture. This coming-out process has allowed me to pursue my identity as an androgyne. Androgynes are people who take elements of conventional masculinity and femininity and blend them in a way that is unique to their personal expression. They may use props like clothes, or they may use other kinds of symbolic imagery (Transformations 1989)."
