John D Bulkeley, WW II torpedo boat hero, famed for having taken Gen. MacArthur and President Quezon out of Phils. in PT boat and later at Torpedo Boat commander in Southwest Pacific shown in bridge chair. No. 11: First thing Capt. John D Bulkeley did after ship O'Brien was secured was to telephone his wife Alice in Washington. He used bridge phone connected to shore line.
