Colonel Pilar Garcia and Troops

(Original Caption) Colonel Pilar Garcia (center), who successfully headed army defense at Matanzaws army post against rebel attack April 29th, relates details of the attack to reporters. The Cuban government established censorship on the Press and radio April 30th in the wake of the unsuccessful attack. Fifteen of the young rebels and four soldiers were killed in the attack. Armed forces have taken control throughout the Island under the suspension of constitutional guarantees.
